Our Story

From Vision to Vivid Community Hub

The Audubon Recreation Center began as a simple idea: create a place where people of all ages can stay active, spend time together, and enjoy year-round recreation close to home.

Led by the Audubon Recreation Foundation, this vision quickly grew into a community-driven effort to build something meaningful for Audubon and the surrounding area.

When the ARC opened in 2018, it offered a wide range of amenities designed to serve the whole community including gym space, a walking track, a batting cage, a racquetball/pickleball court, a 150-person community room, an eight-lane bowling alley, a restaurant, and an arcade with soft play.

The goal from day one was to provide as many opportunities as possible for people to stay active, connect, and enjoy time together.

As usage grew, so did the possibilities. An expansion in 2023 added additional gym space, improved facilities, and new recreation options, all a clear reflection of how much the ARC has become part of daily life in Audubon. With ongoing support from donors, members, and volunteers, the ARC continues to evolve to meet the community’s needs.

Today, the ARC stands as a testament to what a community can achieve when people work together: a welcoming space where families, youth, adults, and seniors share games, workouts, meals, and memories all under one roof.

Why it matters

Looking Ahead

As we move deeper into the future, the ARC isn’t slowing down. The focus remains on expanding programs, improving facilities, and ensuring recreation and wellness are accessible to everyone.
